Adventure lover? Let’s do this! Ecuador MultiSport is six days of diverse action, sports, and culture. Mountain bike down from the skirts of an active Andean volcano to the edge of the Amazon. Trek around another volcano, the highest active one in the world.
Navigate white-water rapids in the cloud forest. Repel down a waterfall in tropical surroundings. Hike the rim of a crater lake. Depart on horseback from your enchanting hacienda, exploring the high Andes. We’ve picked out some of the top active destinations for you adrenaline seekers, and packed it into a well-organized 6-day excursion departing from Quito.
Our Multisport tour starts with an early morning pickup in Quito. We will head to the private reserve of Santa Rita where we will enjoy a late morning trek. Along the trail, we will observe a variety of hummingbird species, along with orchids and bromeliads.
In the afternoon we will bike to Cotopaxi National Park. The scenery here is stunning, including a small Incan ruin site, and we will have the chance to observe wildlife as well. Late afternoon arrival to the hacienda will give us a moment to relax or take a stroll around the area.

After breakfast we will head to another hacienda, where we will get acquainted with our horses and begin our ride. We will cross farmland and indigenous villages. On clear days we will be able to observe distant Andean peaks, including Tungurahua and Ilinizas volcanoes.
In the afternoon we will arrive to the banks of the Pastaza River, in the valley of Leito. Here we will enjoy a naturist hike in the subtropical Andean forest.

Today we set for Llanganates National Park, where we ride our bikes down from the high Andes to the subtropical cloud forest. We will glide through amazing canyons, rock walls, and scenic cascades. A couple of our planned stops will include the famous Devil’s Couldron and Bride’s Veil waterfalls.
After the waterfalls we’ll ditch the bikes and drive to Puyo, a quaint town on the edge of the rainforest. After we settle into the lodge, we will visit a local Kichwa community, providing a chance to learn about their culture, history, and traditions.

Its always an amazing day when you have a chance to spend it in the Amazon Rainforest. We start with a nature walk, learning about the vegetation, and keeping an eye out for wildlife. Once we reach the river, we board our raft for an adventurous morning of Amazon exploration.
In the afternoon we head back up the slopes, towards the mountain resort town of Papallacta. This amazing spot is made famous by the numerous volcanic hot springs. At the resort you can soak, relax, or enjoy spa treatments.

We will set off for an early morning hike through the cloud forest. We will visit the interpretation center, along the way we will enjoy bird-watching along with the chance to see other types wildlife.
Afterwards, we will head North towards Otavalo. Along the way we cross the equator, and we will make a stop at the pre-colonial Quitzato monument. Otavalo is home to the largest indigenous market of South America. We will have plenty of time to explore the hundreds of craft booths, hunting for that perfect souvenir. We will make a special visit to a weaver’s shop, observing their traditions and techniques.

Our last day has us arriving at the shores of Cuicocha crater lake. This caldera of this dormant volcano is filled with fresh water and is perfect for exploring by foot and taking amazing photos of the islands and wildlife.
After a picnic, we will set back for Quito, where you will have some time to explore the city. If you have a flight out later tonight, we can arrange for an airport dropoff.
